The NWRHCC is comprised of key partners from across the Northwest Region that support the purpose of the coalition. Our members include hospitals, emergency medical services (EMS), emergency management, public health, behavioral health, and ancillary healthcare providers.

Who We Are

Our Mission

Colorado’s Northwest Region Healthcare Coalition's (NWRHCC) mission is to coordinate and conduct healthcare emergency preparedness activities throughout the following Northwest Colorado counties: Mesa, Garfield, Pitkin, Eagle, Summit, Grand, Jackson, Routt, Moffat, and Rio Blanco.

  • Training and Exercises to ensure that all members are prepared to respond effectively in an emergency. These exercises help identify gaps in preparedness and improve coordination among members

  • Emergency Preparedness and Planning involving the development of comprehensive emergency response plans that coordinate the actions of all member organizations. This includes planning for mass casualty events, infectious disease outbreaks, natural disasters, and other emergencies.

  • Resource Sharing and Coordination to ensure that critical resources are available where they are most needed.

What we Provide

  • Recovery and Resilience Building by supporting recovery efforts after an emergency and working to improve the resilience of the healthcare system. This involves assessing the impact of the disaster, restoring services, and implementing improvements to prevent future incidents.

  • Situational Awareness by providing real-time information and situational awareness to all members to support decision-making during an emergency. This includes sharing information on the status of healthcare facilities, available resources, and the progress of the emergency response.

What is a healthcare coalition?

Health Care Coalitions are a network of individual healthcare and responder organizations that have come together to coordinate and prepare for emergencies and disaster events. Membership is based by region and can include hospitals, emergency medical services (EMS), emergency management, public health, behavioral health, and ancillary healthcare providers. The strength of HCCs is that they reflect the unique needs and characteristics of each local jurisdiction. -CDPHE
